Blog EntryThe returnMay 13, '08 2:51 AM
for everyone
As a birthday gift to myself, I will return to blogging next week after 3 months of hiatus. But this time, I will carry a different tone. Not preachy, may not be encouraging as before. This blog will now be extremely personal -- walled, but personal.

It is my hope that through this, I will have a venue to share my doubts, my questions, my pains in this season of my life. I noticed that when someone tells me his own pains, I'm encouraged in a way by learning that I'm not alone. Maybe, just maybe, by sharing some details of my struggles -- even how vague -- someone may say, "that's encouraging, I'm not alone".

I will start with a post for my select friends and Grace Place family on Friday. It's not going to be for "everyone" though.

So, there. See you around.

Blog EntryGone ... for a whileMar 4, '08 9:20 PM
for everyone

I love blogging. It has been my online self for more than 7 years now since I started my first blog. For some personal reasons — where I found myself confused and disoriented in life, I’m going to have to take an indefinite blogging break. I will have an online (and offline) personal solitude, an isolation.

So, to my readers — if there’s indeed any — I will be gone for a while but hope to come back blogging again, not very soon, but sure will return.

God bless you all.

Arnold

Blog EntryMind-dumpJan 6, '08 9:41 PM
for everyone
My mind does not rest when I'm awake. Literally. Whether I'm resting or doing something, thoughts just run through my mind. Good thoughts, bad thoughts, things to do, things not to do, things to say and not what to say, plans for this week, plans for this year. It's just floats in my head.

Joy asked me last night, "Is that good or bad?"

It depends on how I control my thoughts. Sometimes, when I'm obsessed with something -- like when I have a really good plan to do the next day at church or at the office or for the family, I just can't stop thinking about it. That's not good. What I should be doing is stop and act. Stop and act.

One thing that I normally do to "stop" so i can start acting is to have a what I call "Mind dump". What I do is to write my thoughts in my journal, or on my cellphone planner, or in my blog. That way, I can pluck those thoughts out of my mind.

So, you'll probably read some of my thoughts here under "mind dump" tags.

Enough with the introductions. Hear my mind dump -- my plans for this blog this year.

* I'm writing a blog series entitled "How good is good enough"
* I'll be writing another blog series come February entitled "30 days to live". This is in line with the up coming big message series at Grace Place with the same title. The plot of this series is, "What will change in the way you think about your life if you'll know you only have 30 days to live?"
* I'll be writing reasons why I believe that, contrary to popular belief, the Philippines is NOT a Christian nation.

... and more.

Later.

Blog EntryWhy a new blog?Oct 23, '07 10:43 PM
for everyone
Many of you know that I have a 4-year old blog called Life 2.0 at http://arnold.gamboa.ph. So what can you, my accidental reader expect from this new blog at Multiply?

Blogging has been my cyber life since I started it 4 years ago. But I wasn't focused. I write about anything and everything under the sun -- which is typical of a personal blog. But this time I want to be focused. How?

Life 2.0 will now host hardcore topics such as politics, theology and technology -- three major subjects that bug my mind and needs outlet to be released in the wild to never come back.

This blog, loosely coined as it's.not.about.me, will be partially about me :-) but will be greatly be about my family -- Joy, my lovely wife and Johann, my son. I will also talk about Grace Place, my spiritual family. And lastly, I will try to share with you my spiritual journey, how God has been blessing me and some thoughts I am receiving from my quiet time.

So there, I'm officially activating the blog section of it's.not.about.me. (But of course, you are still welcome to visit my other blog). Anyone who wants to welcome me here? :D
